Pizza Fund Raising by Chef Vinny

Mama's Pizza Recipe Made $1,000 Per Day!

Do you have a passion for making pizza? You can turn that passion into a very profitable side business making over $1,000 per day on a weekend. Or maybe you want to raise funds for your special event or group. Selling pizza can be your answer. This is a very simple business that has helped me get through some tough financial times. First, I want to tell you this is my Mama's recipe and I am going to give it to you for free.

This pan-fried pizza is what Mama made when everyone in my family was hungry and we wanted a fast meal. This is a very tasty pizza that you can mass-produce in large quantities for very hungry crowds of people.

This is not the perfect homemade pizza. The perfect homemade pizza starts with dough that is made properly using special techniques that will enhance the flavor of the crust. If you want your homemade pizza crust to taste like the one you can get in most Italian neighborhoods in New York and New Jersey, you need these secret techniques.

If you search the Internet for pizza recipes, you will find thousands to choose from. I have not found one of these recipes that would help make your pizza an award winning pizza. You must take special care in the preparation of the pizza dough crust. That is the start of an award winning pizza. As you can probably tell by now, I have quite a passion for making the perfect pizza.

Here is Mama's Recipe:

1- package of frozen white bread dough (usually comes 3-4 per package)

2- cans of tomato sauce 16 oz each

1- Tsp. of oregano

1 - tsp. of basil

1 - tsp. of sugar

1 - tsp. of dried garlic

3 - cloves of fresh garlic

3 - tbls. of olive oil

1 - gallon of vegetable oil

½ - tsp. of black pepper

1 - cooking temperature gauge

Here is the idea: Where I live in California there are many events that attract large number of people. For example: The Grape Festival, The Strawberry Festival, The Garlic Festival, The Fiddler Jamboree and on and on. I started at the Fiddler Jamboree in Shasta California. I made a nice sign that said PIZZA in big letters. I had a long strong table that was covered with a nice tablecloth because it was old and ugly. Behind the table were two propane burners with big pots on them, one with vegetable oil in it and the other with pizza sauce. These were similar to the huge pots that they use to boil oil and cook a whole turkey. Also, behind the table was my make shift kitchen staff. Mama cooked the pizza and several friends and my girl friend put the toppings and cheese on the odd shaped pizza and handed it to the server and cashier.....me.

Once the smell of pizza permeated the country air big lines started to form. Another one of my friends volunteered to help serving pizza after he saw that we were not able to handle all the people waiting in line. My volunteers wished that they hadn't volunteered at the end of the day because being on your feet for 10 hours is not easy. Keep in mind that this was an outdoor event on a very sunny day. I would recommend some type of canopy for shade.

The cooking method:

Heat the oil up in the large pot to 375 degrees. (This is very important) At this temperature this pizza dough will cook in 2-3 minutes and come out perfect. If the temperature is lower your pizza will be greasy.

Thaw out your frozen bread dough the night before and store covered with plastic or in plastic food trays with covers. Each loaf of the pre-made frozen bread yields about 6-8 individual size pizzas. Once you cut your loaf into 6-8 pieces then you flatten them out by hand and drop them into the hot oil for 2-3 minutes.

When they come out of the oil they are ready to serve. Put your cheese on top and then put your pizza sauce over the cheese and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. The hot pizza sauce melts the cheese and you have a very tasty pizza with no oven needed. I used grated Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. See pictures of this unusual shaped pizza at perfecthomemadepizza.com

The sauce is simple.>b> You can use store bought pre-made pizza sauce or make your own. To make your own mince your fresh garlic cloves and sauté in olive oil. Before the garlic turns too brown add your tomato sauce and the basil, oregano, sugar, dried garlic and black pepper. Cook for about 20 minutes, taste it and if you like it you're finished!

Mother's Day cocktail: The Dorothy Mantooth is a Saint by Max Sparber

TOMORROW IS MOTHER'S DAY, and, like all American Mother's Days in the past, it is an opportunity for pacifists and suffragettes to protest the American Civil War.

Mother's DayWhy are you giving me such an odd look? Surely you remember that Mother's Day was introduced in the United States by Julia Ward Howe, the author of "The Battle Hymn of The Republic," herself an activist in the joint causes of pacifism and women's suffrage. And you must remember that her intention in starting the holiday was to unite women to protest the unspeakable carnage of the War Between the States, as expressed in her "Mother's Day Proclamation," mustn't you?

No? Well, no matter. Even if your mother is neither a pacifist or a suffragette -- if she spends her weekends, say, writing hawkish letters to government demanding more and better war, but, in the meanwhile, steadfastly refusing to vote, she's still your mother. On this day you owe her a card, and a phone call. And, we daresay, a cocktail.

This is why we have invented one to celebrate the event. We wanted a drink that was potent, yet feminine. We wanted a drink that would satisfy firebrands and homebodies alike. And, more than anything, we wanted to create a cocktail that would involve chamomile tea. And so we give you our invention, which, after the film Anchorman, we have dubbed the Dorothy Mantooth is a Saint. Mix your mother up a glass tomorrow, kiss her on the forehead, and, when she slips into slumber, pull the biography of Carrie Chapman Catt out of her hands, put away her collected photos of Mathew Brady, and let her sleep, for God's sake -- she's your mother!

The Dorothy Mantooth is a Saint

2 parts peppermint schnapps
1 part chamomile tea, iced
ice cubes

Fish Soup with Gremolata

This can be found in different forms and with different regional takes throughout Italy. Usually cooked in white wine, this dish was originates from the Adriatic coast where it first became popular decades ago.

One Big Secret - Colorado Wines by Jim Bruce

Vineyards in Colorado may just be the highest in elevation in the United States. And the Colorado wines made from these high altitude grapes reflect the region. In the Grand Valley AVA area, most vineyards are situated at around 4,500 feet Within Delta County to the southeast of Grand Junction, in the West Elks AVA, the vineyards are approximately 1,000 feet higher, with the highest at a 6,400 foot elevation.

This arid mesa country is not where you would suspect to find vineyards and wineries. But focus on just the winery and the vineyards surrounding it and you could be in California. Turn around and gaze past the vines towards the mesas beyond and you know that you're somewhere else.

Colorado wines are not nationally known as they are one of the best kept secrets in the wine world. Little known are the two American Viticultural Areas of Colorado, the Grand Valley AVA and the West Elks AVA. The Grand Valley is noted mainly for its reds and the West Elks for its whites.

Colorado has a diversity of terrain, topography, and climate. It is in the milder western slope where the grapevine has found a home. Grape growing in predominantly found in the Grand Valley to the west of Grand Junction around Palisades, in Delta and Montrose Counties, and in the Four Corners region. The growing season is a little shorter than in California, but sunshine isn't a problem at this elevation and the greater amount of UV light along with the warm days has a positive effect on the wines when combined with the cool nights in this region.

Very few wines you will encountered here are of less than commercial quality. Most are interesting, if not identical to the same varieties grown in Europe or California. And some are award-winning and very good by any standard. Some have strange names like Tyrannosaurus Red to cover up the poorly named Lemberger grape variety, (aka "Blaufrankish" in Germany). But forgetting the name, you will find this a solid example of that unusual variety.

You'll find the Chardonnays, Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons from the Grand Valley all good quality, but I'm completely taken by the Rieslings and Gewurtztraminers from the West Elks growing area. You'll find these solid efforts with good aromatics. Even the wines approaching 3% residual sugar weren't overly sweet. Pinot Noir, which does poorly in the Grand Valley, has found a home in the higher elevation of the West Elks region.

Colorado wines are beginning to be discovered by wine connoisseurs and the secret of this wine producing area is getting out. The Colorado wine industry is beginning to mature and the wines that are produced here are gaining in quality with each year. Those tourists vacationing on the Western Slope find not only the wines that are appealing, but also the beautiful scenery and landscapes that they can survey from the various family owned wineries they encounter.

Make The Most Of Your Green Tea Leaves by Green Tea Today

Not everybody knows how to make the most of their green tea leaves to reap the benefit of green tea. Most of them are taught how to reach their desirable tea from learning from their mistakes or from close family or friends. There are many different ways of brewing tea leaves right, and the following rules can be followed to ensure the highest quality of green tea can be brewed from your green tea leaves. Before you start to brew your green tea leaves, be sure that you have the best quality of tea leaves you can find. Also, be sure to make sure the green tea leaves are not too old if you desire much flavor. The water affects the outcome of the green tea leaves greatly. Try not to use tap water, but instead, use the highest quality of water you can attain. Many people do not understand how much the water can affect the green tea's flavor.

Steeping is a very substantial method for green tea leaves, and it allows the tea to flow with the water. The procedure takes place when the green tea leaves are placed in the water for a very long period. It all depends on the type of tea you use. Green tea's steeping time is very specific. It involves steeping tea in water that has reached a temperature of 160-180 degrees for around two or three minutes. You should also check the instructions that come with the green tea leaves for the recommended times that the manufacturers suggest.

The tea leaves should be brewed in water with a deep pan with enough room to give room for the tea leaves to expand sufficiently. With this method, you learn the correct way to brew the green tea leaves. The green tea leaves can be strained after the steeping is complete with a strainer or a tea infuser. The tea infusers are designed to remove every single bit that is left from the green tea leaves for a complete green tea diet.

Tasty+Healthy=Indian+Chinese Food by hemalatha

Food is any substance that can be consumed, including liquid drinks. Food is the main source of energy and of nutrition for animals, and is usually of animal or plant origin

The study of food is called food science. In English, the term food is often used metaphorically or figuratively, as in food for thought.

Humans are commonly believed to be omnivorous animals that can consume both plant and animal products. Evidence suggests that early humans employed hunter-gatherer techniques as their primary method of food collection. This involves combining stationary plant and fungal food sources (such as fruits, grains, roots, and mushrooms with mobile animals which must be hunted and killed in order to be consumed. Additionally, it is believed that humans have used fire to prepare food prior to eating since their divergence from Homo erectus, possibly even earlier.

Taste is something that goes back to our early days of learning about food, don't you think? We are familiar with the tastes and mouth feel of our favorite dishes. Think about how a bowl of hot oatmeal with milk reminds you of home, or how chocolate cupcakes call to mind birthday parties with your best friends. Visit www.indomunch.com to get to know the different tastes of Indian-Chinese food.

It definitely takes time for taste buds to change. Until then, eat the healthy foods that you do like, and that you do enjoy. To get the 25-30 grams of fiber per day recommended by the American Dietetic Association, fill your plate with fresh ripe fruits and veggies of bright colors. Learn how to incorporate whole grains in the form of pasta and bread to your meals. These things will cleanse your palate, and open your taste buds wide. What's In Your Soup? by Terrie C

Have you ever sat and thought about, 'what ever happened to good old fashion soup'? When you go to the grocery store and purchase a can of soup, it doesn't matter which brand; have you ever taken a good look at the label? Most, (not all) but most canned soups now days contains ingredients that are completely unnecessary for a desirable tasting soup. And in a lot of cases, even the food products within the soup are derived from previously processed foods or condensed foods and food products.

For instance_ the label on the can of soup that I am holding right now reads: Water, Beef, Carrots, Potatoes, Frozen Peas, Celery, Modified food starch, Salt, MSG, Wheat flour, Hydrolyzed corn protein, Dehydrated onions, Caramel color, Beef extract, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Spices.

First off_ Let's talk about this MSG. What is MSG? MSG is (Monosodium Glutamate). According to the MSG Corporation, it is nothing more than a natural ingredient and food enhancer. That it is a sodium salt of glutamic acid, and one of the most common amino acids found in nature; that there is no difference between the glutamate found in natural foods than that added as MSG. You can look it up yourself, for they even have their own website now.

If this is all true, then why is it that so many people have strange or allergic reactions to it? I am one of them. Within 20 minutes of eating anything that contains MSG, I get a pounding headache that incapacitates me for at least 2 hours. There has even been several occasions where my sight went blurry for about the same amount of time. I have been tested to see if perhaps it may have been due to the food itself and not the MSG, but I can eat all of the foods separately without any problem. I am also able to eat table salt on anything I want without any problems. Something isn't making any sense here.

Now let's get on to some of the other ingredients such as Modified food starch, Hydrolyzed corn protein, and Caramel color. If potatoes are added to the soup, they will produce a thickening agent by themselves. And why use corn protein; why not just add corn? Why do you need to add coloring to soup? Do you honestly believe that our grandmothers added all this nonsense to their homemade soups and stews? It is possible that they may have added some bouillon for added flavor, and yes, there is bouillon that does not contain MSG. However, if soup and stew is done correctly, none of these added off the wall ingredients are needed. Soups and stews will flavor themselves naturally with the fresh meats and vegetables that are added. The longer it cooks and simmers, the deeper the flavor will be.

Good Breakfast by Sanjeevkumar

Why is eating a good breakfast so important? Let's find out. What did you have for breakfast? Nothing? Sweet roll and juice, donuts and coffee. Or bacon, eggs, toast with jam, juice, milk.

What you eat for breakfast determines how you feel most of the day. The body produces energy from the amount of sugar in your blood from breakfast. Eating only carbohydrates products (donuts, sweet rolls, juice) are nothing but sugar and is quickly used. If you eat some protein and fat along with it, it will be digested more slowly, keeping your energy high longer.

When your blood sugar is low, you feel hungry and weak. Lack of sugar affects the nerves and brain, thus your thinking becomes slow, confused, and you're grouchy, irritable, and moody.

If your blood sugar level is high, you feel good and function better. You have no desire to eat. Your sweet tooth is satisfied.

Protein, carbohydrates, and fats have to be combined to give you that high sugar level.

Milk, bacon, and eggs are good sources for your breakfast protein. Orange juice, bread, and jam are good carbohydrates. Butter, bacon, and eggs are also fat sources.

Too many carbohydrates (sugar) forces the body to produce too much insulin from the pancreas. This causes the liver and muscles to withdraw sugar and store it as starch or fat.

So too much sugar defeats the purpose for which it is intended-to produce energy. Fatigue then sets in.

Remember, children have the same requirements. They need a good breakfast to function best in school.
